Ford Focus voted UK’s “most popular car of the decade”
London, Dec 22(ANI): The Ford Focus has been voted the UK”s most popular car of the decade, according to a new poll by Auto Trader magazine.
It beat off the challenge of the Ford Fiesta, with the BMW 3 Series third, the Ford Mondeo fourth and the Vauxhall Astra fifth, The Telegraph reported.
The Ford Focus is a small family car marketed globally since its introduction in 1998 in Europe, 2000 in North America, and 2002 in Australia.
Despite its radical styling, and some controversial safety recalls in North America, the car has been a runaway success across the globe, even in the United States, where Ford has traditionally failed to successfully sell its European models.
It was also the best-selling car in the world in 1999 through 2004, and elected Car of the Year in 1999.
Meanwhile, the poll has also found the Fiat Panda as the best value for money car, while the “greenest” vehicle of the decade was the Toyota Prius. (ANI)
